HP/Digital Equipment Corp.

As a certified vendor for former Compaq/DEC (now HP), NPA Computers is able to provide maintenance services on VMS and Tru64 systems. Below is a synopsis of how we were able to help just some of our customers:

NPA Computers has had the unique opportunity to provide support maintenance services for one of the busiest transit systems in the Tri-State Area. Within the provisions of the contract, NPA Computers was responsible for maintaining a vast array of DEC (Digital Equipment Corp.) hardware and peripherals throughout all agency facilities. Utilizing our staff of certified engineers, we provided critical 24 x 7 maintenance services on all equipment pieces which included DEC 4000, 6000 and 7000 series systems with various Storage Works devices attached.

Our approach included maintaining critical parts in nearby depot facilities as well as incorporating key personnel to service the 100+ site locations throughout the state. We also included two full-time on-site personnel to maintain non-critical equipment such as PC’s and desktop printing devices. NPA Computers successfully maintained the equipment with a strong acknowledgement of thanks from senior IT Staff.

NPA Computers, through our committed partnership with HP, provides critical equipment maintenance services on various lines of ES40 and 45 units. These systems perform clinical operations in over 22 hospitals. Critical to hospital functions, NPA was selected to perform the maintenance services on these units utilizing our partnership with HP and creating value-added service through our own technical staff.

NPA Computers currently maintains these systems 24 x 7 x 365 utilizing our staff to perform additional administrative services and solutions while using our key partnership with HP Systems to provide critical hardware support services and open VMS support.

In 2002 NPA Computers acquired a contract to perform maintenance services on various Risc systems in a children’s medical hospital. The medical center was looking for better support services to maintain their equipment while reducing costs. NPA proudly provided this charitable hospital with our finest support personnel. This resulted in significant savings over their current contract. We believe in the mission of charitable organizations and the important role they play in our society. Our support for this organization is the hallmark of our business. We provide superior support solutions allowing them to focus on their mission to help the children that they have been serving for over 30 years.

NPA Computers has been providing critical services for one of the largest hospital agencies in the northeast. This hospital, having recently been named a top technology hospital, made NPA proud to serve in a supporting role. We currently maintain a variety of critical IBM equipment pieces located throughout the entire city. Currently, their Data Center houses well over 10 Risc units, LTO autoloaders, mass storage devices and other mid-range/mainframe equipment pieces. These and similar equipment pieces throughout the city are under the support of our technical team.

Responding 24 x 7 x 365 within two hours of an equipment failure, our technicians provide services that are critical to the daily operations of all hospitals. Downtime cannot be afforded as these hospitals operate fully staffed around the clock. NPA Computers continues to provide services and support with many value-added components including full-time on-site personnel to assist with the maintenance and management of equipment. Our success in maintaining over five million dollars worth of critical equipment has been acknowledged on many levels making NPA Computers the preferred vendor for critical maintenance and other services.
